1.2 |
|
An Adapted Work refers to one that is based on a classic or the choreographed work that has been performed previously either locally or overseas. |

A New Work means a new piece of choreographed work and it has never been featured previously in any public performances either locally or overseas. |

|
Dance titles can be in either English or Chinese |

| 2. Competition Rules |
| |
2.1 |
|
Dance music of good quality must be in a single track compact disc (CD) format. The CD is non-returnable. |
| |
2.2 |
|
If participating group, after being called, is not on stage within 1 minute, it’s considered forfeit. |
| |
2.3 |
|
Live music accompaniment is allowed. Performing group will have to make their own instruments arrangement. Stage technical preparation should not exceed 1 minute. |
| |
2.4 |
|
No backdrop, bulky or heavy props are allowed. No special stage effects and lighting design is allowed, stage arrangement should only be done by the organizer. |
| |
2.5 |
|
10% of the final awarded score given by the judge will be deducted for any item that exceeds the stipulated time |
| |
2.6 |
|
All performing group can participate in more than 1 category but repetition is not allowed and it’s also subject to approval from the organizer. And a festival fee of S$120(SINGAPORE DOLLARS ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY) is charged for each additional dance. |

2.7 |
|
Introduction of the dance item, performance photo and name list of performers should be submitted to festival office via email by 15/10/07. |
|
| 3. Adjudication Criteria |

3.1 |
|
Amateur: Not more than 5 minutes |

3.2 |
|
Professional: Between 3 – 6 minutes

Each dance must have a minimum of 8 dancers. |

| 4. Awards |

4.1 |
|
There is no determined number of Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards.
Participating groups will be awarded certificates based on their performances. |

| 5. Closing Date |
| |
5.1 |
|
Closing date for registration is 30 September 2007 |
| |
5.2 |
|
Once entry form is submitted, changes of dance title/type/category etc will not be encouraged and subject to approval by the organizer. |
|
| 7. Others |

7.1 |
|
All participating groups are to comply with the rules and regulations. |

7.2 |
|
The Organizer reserves the right to impose a penalty for any infringement of the “Rules and Regulations” |

7.3 |
|
The Organizer reserves the right to make necessary amendments to the“Rules and Regulations” without prior notice. |

7.4 |
|
With respect to the professional team of judges, all judge’s decision will be final and no further correspondence will be entertained. |
