Competition Categories
- Group A – Primary School
- Group B – Secondary School, Junior College & Pre-University and other Bands.

Music Scores
- The contest performance consists of performance of 1 local piece, followed by the performance of 1 chosen composition.
- Please bring ORIGINAL scores should verification be required.

Judging Criteria
- The maximum score is 100%.
- The adjudicators will judge the performance of both pieces according to the following major categories.
- The total points scored (max.500 points) will be divided equally by 5 and be expressed in 2 decimal points.

Allowance and Penalty
- Deduction of 5% on overall score should the performing time exceed 00:15.10 minutes. An allowance of 10 seconds will be given.
- Deduction of 5% on overall score should the bands report at least 10 minutes late.

On Stage & Percussion Instruments
- Participating groups are allowed to move percussion instruments on stage to suit your seating plan (subject to 20 minutes stage presence) EXCEPT Timpani, Chimes, Drum Set, Marimba, Xylophone and Vibraphone
- Band is only allowed on stage after permission given by the Stage Manager.
- There will be NO assistance to bring percussion instruments onto the stage.
- There will be provision of 50 foldable music stands & 1 conductor stand. If you require more stands, kindly inform us upon submission of seating plan.
- Piano will not be provided.
- All electronic keyboards & musical equipments are NOT allowed. Example, Synthesizer, Amplifier, Electric Guitar and etc.

Closing Date
- Closing date for registration is 15 September 2008.
- All performing group may participate in more than 1 category but repetition is not allowed.
- Once entry form is submitted, changes of competition repertoire/music will be subjected to approval.
- The festival office reserves the right to reject applications for artistic or organisational reasons. Any fees paid will only be refunded should the group be rejected.

Application Requirements
- Only completed application forms are accepted.
- A brief biography of the Band. (submission via email)
- A photo of the Band not older than 2 years (digital format in jpg, landscape form). (submission via email)
- Photocopy 3 copies of each Music Scores.
- 30th September 2008 is the dateline for submission of “brief biography of the Band”, “soft copy of photograph” and “Music Scores”

Others
- All participating groups are to comply with the “Rules and Regulations”.
- The Organizer reserves the right to impose a penalty for any infringement of the “Rules and Regulations”
- The Organizer reserves the right to make necessary amendments to the “Rules and Regulations” without prior notice.
- With respect to the professional team of judges, all judge’s decision will be final and no further correspondence will be entertained.
