|
The contest performance consists of performance of 1 local piece, followed by the performance of 1 chosen composition. |

Please bring ORIGINAL scores should verification be required. |

| 3. Time Allocation |
| |
3.1 |
|
Total Stage Presence Time No more than 20 minutes. |
| |
3.2 |
|
Total Performing Time No more than 15 minutes. |
| |
3.3 |
|
Tuning on stage No more than 2 minutes. |
|
| 4. Judging Criteria |
| |
4.1 |
|
The maximum score is 100% |
| |
4.2 |
|
The adjudicators will judge the performance of both pieces according to the following major categories. |
| |
4.3 |
|
The total points scored (max.500 points) will be divided equally by 5 and be expressed in 2 decimal points. |
| |
4.4 |
|
Score:
-30% Sound (Tuning, Quality, Balance)
-40% Technique (Technique, Articulation, Ensemble Playing, Rhythm)
-30% Musical Performance (Dynamics, Phrasing, Interpretation) |

| 5. Allowance and Penalty |
| |
5.1 |
|
Deduction of 5% on overall score should the performing time exceed 00:15.10 minutes. An allowance of 10 seconds will be given |

5.2 |
|
Deduction of 5% on overall score should the bands report at least 10 minutes late. |
|
| 6. Awards |
| |
6.1 |
|
There is no determined number of Gold, Silver or Bronze Awards.
Participating groups will be awarded certificates based on their performances as follows:
GOLD - 85% and above
SILVER 75% - 84.99%
BRONZE 65% - 74.99%
Certificate of Participation - 65% and below
All participating bands achieving a minimum of 65% will receive a Diploma Award. |

| 7. On Stage & Percussion Instruments |
| |
7.1 |
|
Participating groups are allowed to move percussion instruments on stage to suit your seating plan (subject to 20 minutes stage presence) EXCEPT Timpani, Chimes, Drum Set, Marimba, Xylophone and Vibraphone |
| |
7.2 |
|
Band is only allowed on stage after permission given by the Stage Manager. |
| |
7.3 |
|
There will be NO assistance to bring percussion instruments onto the stage. |
| |
7.4 |
|
There will be provision of 50 foldable music stands & 1 conductor stand.
If you require more stands, kindly inform us upon submission of seating plan. |

7.5 |
|
Piano will not be provided |
| |
7.6 |
|
All electronic keyboards & musical equipments are NOT allowed.
Example, Synthesizer, Amplifier, Electric Guitar and etc |

| 8. Closing Date |

Closing date for registration is 15 September 2007 |

All performing group may participate in more than 1 category but repetition is not allowed. |

Once entry form is submitted, changes of competition repertoire/music will be subjected to approval. |

| 9. Application Requirements |

9.1 |

Only completed application forms are accepted. (By email or fax) |
| |
9.2 |
|
All performing group may participate in more than 1 category but repetition is not allowed.
Additional category competition is SGD120 per group. |

A brief biography of the Band Group. (via email)
Photo of the Band group (landscape jpg format), not older than two years. (email)
Photocopy 3 copies of each Music Scores. (By Post) |

| 10. Others |
| |
10.1 |
|
All participating groups are to comply with the rules and regulations. |
| |
10.2 |
|
The Organizer reserves the right to impose a penalty for any infringement of the “Rules and Regulations”. |
| |
10.3 |
|
The organisers reserve the right not to award any of the prizes should the entries in the judges’
opinion fail to meet the required standards. |
| |
10.4 |
|
The Organiser reserves the right to make necessary amendments to the “Rules and Regulations”
without prior notice. |
| |
10.5 |
|
With respect to the professional team of judges, all judge’s decision will be final and no further
correspondence will be entertained. |
| |
10.6 |
|
Once entry form is submitted, changes of dance title/type/category etc are not encouraged and
subject to approval by the organizer. |

10.7 |
|
The festival office reserves the right to reject applications for artistic or organisational reasons.
Any fees paid will only be refunded should the group be rejected. |

参赛队可照乐队的队型需求，移动台上的打击乐器
（针对20分钟总占舞台时间）除定音鼓，编鼓， 木琴，马林巴琴之外。

|
参赛队不可私用舞台，须得舞台经理的许可及安排。 |

打击乐器的搬动自理。 |

钢琴恕不供应。 |
